Why Go Green?

The reasons are truly endless. Whether you just want to help protect yourself from harmful additives, chemicals, parabens, dyes, preservatives-the list can go on and on, or perhaps you just love animals you can’t live a life knowing you are helping to contribute to the horrible lives they are sentenced to live. Maybe you just like the idea or you can’t stand picturing the world as one big factory with all of the beautiful amazing gifts we have such as gorgeous oceans, rivers, wildlife, trees, flowers and more gone forever.

Everything you do, every item you purchase has a chain reaction. If you purchase a non organic apple you are supporting farmers who use very harmful chemicals to make that apple big, very red and perfect with no blemishes. These chemicals go into your body once you eat the apple and the nutrition you are supposed to get from that apple has just been replaced by chemicals, dyes and preservatives. Not to mention the chemicals used on that apple have now killed who knows how many, bees, birds, insects, plants and so on. The chemicals go into the grass and soil which poisons the earth and then the run off goes into our lakes, rivers, streams and oceans. They have said that whales, kelp and tons of animals in the lovely sea have loads of toxic chemicals in there bodies.

It’s the horrible truth. Apples were not meant to be that perfect-it isn’t natural. If you are going to make sure you eat your fruits and vegetables then don’t you want the nutrition from those items? If you are not eating organic then you are not getting it period.

It’s not just produce, the meat industry is beyond horrible- I picture movies like Saw when I picture the slaughter houses and lives these animals live. What humans do to these animals is just beyond anything that should be accepted in our world. Can you imagine humans being treated the way these animals get treated? Did you know we are very similar to animals like cows and horses? Our bodies are very close in the way we do things.

I always said if you cut an apple you do not have blood spilling out, bones and veins not to mention the apple shaking and crying out in pain but when you do that to a cow you do. We know animals built like us feel like us-how can you think that their minds are not like ours. They do feel, they have emotions, fears and they want to live happy safe lives. What humans deem okay is so cruel and disgusting-I can’t believe that a race like ours accepts this. If you call a dog over to you or walk up to a cow with a gun they will sit there because they trust us and have no reason to think humans will hurt them. We were just not meant for that.

Humans are not meant to eat meat. Don’t believe me next time you see road kill go jump on top of it and try to bite through the hide of that animal-use your claws to rip it apart and then see how sick you become if you manage to swallow anything. We do not have claws, sharp teeth or night vision.  Carnivores have extremely short intestines because there food is not meant to be in them that long because flesh can rot inside of you. Humans on the other hand have very, very long intestines because our food is meant to stay in our bodies longer while we absorb the nutrients.

We do have 2 teeth a bit sharper but nothing like the teeth of a lion, a dog, cat etc. They are made to help us break open something comparable to the skin of an orange or a nut.

I think there is more then enough information about what happens in the meat industry that you should have no trouble reading more about this anywhere on the Internet.

The beauty industry is just as awful. They test the lovely little products you buy on bunnies, dogs, cats, mice, monkeys and anything they can get their hands on. Did you know monkeys have so much botox injected into them that they eventually get so frozen they cannot even blink and dye slow painful deaths?

Hair conditioners are forced into bunnies eyes until they are screaming in pain and then scientist study what happens to them. Its just horrible. If you buy ANYTHING you need to read your labels, do not purchase products that test on animals. If they don’t say it they probably do it.

Beauty products have loads of chemicals that have been proven to cause cancer in women. you are putting this stuff on your bodies constantly. Everything you put into your body is absorbed into your skin. There is no other way around this. If something is going to be absorbed into my skin it better be safe, natural and didn’t cause some harmless animal pain and suffering while creating it.

Household products have so much stuff going on it’s hard to know where to start. If you use regular toilet bowel cleaner you are flushing that stuff into our oceans, rivers and lakes. If you use insect repellents outside it sits in your grass kills, the insects and also gets into the worms and seeds that the birds eat, the squirrels. When water evaporates back into the sky its pulling all of these poisons into the clouds. It’s just a never ending cycle.

The poisons you get from using these products can cause all sorts of illnesses. Do you know when you use a candle that lets out black smoke you are breathing it in and it can be a possible link to why so many women get lung cancer who don’t smoke! Use soy candles or other natural organic candles. It amazes me how our government and the FDA can legalize this stuff, but that is life.

You need to take control of your own life. You need to read, research and learn about what you buy, eat, drink, put on your body and into your body. Its up to you to make a difference.

I hate when I hear from someone “Just me not doing something does not make a difference”. You are very wrong, if everyone thought that way nothing would ever change.

I love the starfish story-
There was a man walking on the beach and there were hundreds of starfish who were dying on the sand. He would bend down and pick one up and toss it back into the sea as he walked. He kept doing this on his own until someone else walking said to him ” why are you doing this you cant save them all?” and he responded “I just saved that one.”

The point is one person can make a difference. You may not see it initially but you do. Everything has a chain reaction.

Warmest,
